My first Uniwoche
Hi!
is now my first Uniwoche over ... I was actually a lot longer than a week, there were so many new things to see and hear. On Monday it was
los unhappy. I'm good run up the hill to the castle only to be noted on the notice board that this is one of my two events, taking place not at the castle, but in the new auditorium, that is really outside my front door. So I had to back down the mountain (very fast) and immediately to the New Hall, to determine that it is the most boring events of my timetable. The content is at least mostly interesting, but the Prof rather soporific. Over the week I then found her way better, and I know now that take place almost all of my events. Only almost all of them because we killed the Profs with our incredible mass of people, so we do not fit in part in the practice rooms. Proseminar in UFG we are the proud figure of 47 people!
Highligts Some of my week was definitely artifact morphology (I could previously even think of anything more accurate). As you learn as the angle at which you must beat a flint, so you can make a nice Steinzeitwekrzeug. This will then also demonstrated by the lecturer in practice. Well, actually, because we learn to identify stone artifacts, but in practice it like me better.
is plenty of it confusing when you're sitting in seminars, where a few freshmen are, or where I'm the only one. In such a fun seminar I think in 2 weeks at presentation. I do not know exactly how a unit should look for the university and I have seen no other, but somehow I'm to blame. I finally reported for the Unit (which could also be because I have to lie in the remaining months of November already everywhere units). That makes me even more serious concern ... :-(
my schedule, I only have a little revision, because I have always said is that there is too much, because you'd have so much to do at home yet (see the presentations), so I deleted the pottery analysis. Then I found a great poster at the university, where you can in the evening to learn about the University in special courses in Arabic and signed up for it. So it is a zero-sum game has become, but one thing that I like much more. In addition, says our Akkadian Prof that Akkadian easier to learn Arabic if you can.
Kind regards, Steffi
PS: The best quotes of my professors:
"Archaeology has no practical use for the present"
"This is not a seminar, which is a promotional event for my excavation"
"And this is Rumpelstielchen" (for displaying a clay figure)
"Is there anyone Bachelor ?..... No? What a meeting!"

Photos of Tübingen, connections, and food in the ESG
plays some weird combination Asked thoughts and images:
compounds: I do not know what it looks like students in other cities, I really only know her otherwise Aachen, but here run about so many of connecting students and fraternity members, this is totally weird. All with their belts and hats and then they also dive always completely inappropriate in a suit on. Yesterday was Semetereröffnungsfete in the KHG and then there were the Catholic from the compounds dar. I do not know exactly what to make of those, but it often comes before pretty ridiculous and so elitist, isolated from the rest, but one has something to look at, no question.
food: I have another wonderful benefit of my residence has not been adequately addressed, I think. The food. Es ist erstaunlich wie oft man an gutes (!) kostenloses Essen kommt, wenn man ein bischen in der ESG mitarbeitet. Yesterday, for example. For breakfast there was a semester opening brunch and dinner was one supplied with a large buffet in the KHG. Thursday evening is ESG evening and since we can then go and eat. If council is, so every 2 weeks, there's always a little something and probably I am doing the Vertauensstudenten for our floor, and I have also on preparations for the council and there is, eating right! So, this is not the reason why I'm here and I am here is fun, but to despise is not. And where else I should ever be hungry, there is the Church at 6 or the AG cooking and talking or or or ....
Photos: Now, I have compiled with the help of Steffi's digital camera and a few pictures. Here you are allowed to watch it all: http://agam-ora.magix.net .

PS: I should also like to write very a Comment, just send in the Comment box, I also feel if people read my text :-).

Shoei X-eleven Closeout
First Einschnuppern in the university
Hi!
Now I was in university, as is proper for a student. Yesterday we had half briefing and then a brief introduction by the student body, although it has not brought much to the actual course content, but has informed us of the professors are nice, and how we deal with other things in the Castle study so around. Today we had Prof still a slow introduction and I think I have created a reasonable timetable.
But only the castle itself: We in the Ancient Near Eastern Studies (Near Eastern Archaeology (AAD) and Ancient Near Eastern Philology) are housed in a tower with adjacent corridors. We have 2 practice rooms, a kitchen, a "Blue Room" in the attic, where the beautiful old beams through hinkletter needs and our library that we must be more to share with the Egyptologists (who have more tables and we have more books ). Pre-and Early History (UFG) I study compared with the strand that is not quite as beautiful as our (natural) but also everything inside a timber and beams, etc. has.
We are freshmen this year in an incredible amount represented, our Professor was really excited and has emphasized the past and present explicitly. We are 14, 6 of them in the main compartment with AAD. But all very flexible in their subject combinations. I like almost everyone is unique, so there are also a few who can have a say because what they have done so in their first semester. One notices, however, that it's been a suitable group, studied the AAD. When we are in the introduction somehow got onto the Pergamon Museum, came from the Professor's remark that one could not simply pass on the Pergamon Altar, and all students responded with a knowing smile. 2 of my Mitstudentinnen (UFG HF, LF and Paläoantopologie AAD), I have taken just after our consultation with me in the dorm, where we then gekoch with my roommate, Steffi. At dinner we are so gone about this and that and when the talk then, Steffi just said that we were freaks. Just because we had expressed our regret that Korfamnn died and the excavation permission for Troy, which owns the University of Tübingen, in 3 years expires, whether to pick up the book by Hrouda, as Troy was called at the time of the Hittites, etc. It was a very nice conversation ;-)
Finally there is my timetable, So at least the subjects of the study. Maybe that will change next week, even a little something, then when I times in the lectures and seminars was:
Monday: Lecture (VL): Introduction to the UFG
Proseminar (PS): Introduction to the UFG
Seminar ( S): The city of Emar: Archaeology and History
Tuesday: Exercise (OVR): Akkadian I
OVR: artifact morphology
Wednesday: Lecture: Cultures of the Ancient Near East, late Bronze Age
PS: Introduction to VAA
S: Mesopotamia III
VL : Jungpalöolotikum and Mesolitikum
Thursday: OVR: Akkadian I
S: Archaeology of death in cross-cultural comparison
S: methods and theories; pottery analysis
Friday: free :-)
Right now it looks not so much, but it's more than you should demonstrate and because of the all units will probably be much, well. Arabic I unfortunately can not accept, because in my required courses is :-( Maybe in another semester. But I could also learn so next term Hittite or so together .....
Kind regards, Steffi

Athlete's Foot Fungus Taxonomy
AFS in the south and the ESG
Hello
This weekend I had another appointment with my volunteer core. At first I was in Rothenburg ob der Tauber ( at least pullout of nowhere) to education fall by AFS and have had my education. Eigetlich I was only there for the people of the PG-South (ie AFS in the south) meet you. And of course, to defend with Sven and Hanna AFS LIN against the South. Maybe I'm yet been made a little bit, especially in Thai massage, which can certainly be very useful. Rothenburg is a perfect tourist city, but also very beautiful. Only we had to choose between youth hostel and the school where the training courses were held back and forth forever more.
yesterday (ie on Sunday) evening, we went on with the ESG (Protestant Student Community), where the semester opening party was held and we should help as residents. So put away dishes, etc., name tags distributed (the people wanted partout have no simple name, so I let them write it themselves at some point). Then, when all the guests had gone we have a few of the residents here held our private party and what still danced. Luckily I could sleep and not have to like everybody here today to the university.
Kind regards, Steffi

Tübingen Duck Race
Hi!
There is for me not to do too much, I'm a little walking around aimlessly in the city and then at the 8th Tübingen Duck Race booted. A wonderful event, I can only tell you. Well, there are a few hundred rubber duck in the Neckar tilted and then allowed to swim a race. Of course, all numbers are provided so that later found its owner and also the winner of a prize may be picked up. On their website there are a few photos, but it's probably the same as last year, but this year saw quite a selling agency for this: www.tuebingen-entenrennen.de. On
best but the effort that is driven around it. The THW was there, and divers from DLRG and kayakers, the ducks, who were lost in the thicket, have helped on the way and music and a live commentator. And all was followed by several hundred spectators on both sides of the riverbank.
When I was there it occurred to me that it the selling agency which is why it was the right decision to move to Tübingen.

How To Land A Job At A Tanning Salon
Tübingen II: The City
Since I have a lot of time, I drive myself frequently around the city. It is so out of my feet so to speak. For shopping, I stumble down either my Österberg, watch out, that I am not in the (the?) New (s) Bunting (a small stream) fell and ended up with EDEKA. Since there is a little expensive but really I can do but continue the few steps until I'm at Plus. But I also walk around aimlessly in the area, just to get to know them better (maybe I was developing at some point something like orientation). There are so many wonderful old buildings and small Streets, it's really nice here. The shops are so different than in Krefeld. can sock shops, wool shops, a violin maker, oriental tea and spices ... Some houses in the old town can be reached only by a small bridge, because it directly to (the) New (s): Most of these are small shops that offer special things. Ammer are built. Today I explored some ways and sometimes mountains on a bike (when Österberg I gave up and moved). But otherwise the town is very cycle-friendly.
You get used to pretty quickly to the Swabian what you hear all the time, only the Hello welcome I still find funny. Schwäbisch is actually quite easy. Men just replace all the "s" with "sh", unless that are at the beginning of a word and is sometimes a "le" to the words.
did on Wednesday I will also know the AFS Committee learned. They had committee meetings and then I'm gone to a few people to AFS information session in a Tübingen school. They are just as a heap, as I know it by AFS and now I'm already clamped for the next dates. But I also do not willed otherwise.

Tübingen I: My room
us immediately we fall into my chaos, my room.
It's a really nice room, I do not mean perfect, but otherwise it can to live pretty well here. In any case, it is not a standard student mass treatment, which I am very happy. I live in the mezzanine with two others on my floor. We did it really mean that about 90% of the inhabitants of the mezzanine "Steffi". Only for my neighbor to the parents for Steffen, Steffi decided instead, what I by the fact that he is a boy, more or less justified opinion. He is Zivi moved in here in the ESG and Wednesday. The other Steffi, in the first room on the floor is missing, yet.
My room itself has a few small blemishes. One could, for example, renovating the walls before but that one can also Posters resolve. And my lamp is not quite as good, sometimes it seems a little charred. Yes, and my bedroom door every time reminds me of a prison door. It has two large, solid locks and is always so wonderful "Thud" when opening them. I have softened her character now a bit, as I've stuck a few photos, etc.. If we are already at the door, we are also equal to the keys. There are many, many keys and I look not quite through, as are all used. On my keychain cavort currently 10 key (9 of the ESG and my bike key). Why so many? Well, one for my room one for the front door and the front door, one for the toilet, the shower and the kitchen (we share four of us), one for my store room (so I have ;-)), also one for the gate to the nursery, through the we need to go to get to the bicycle storage facility, for which I need the next key and then another one for the key box in the kitchen, which still has many more beautiful code, eg for the laundry room or the club rooms. What are the remaining two, I do not know. I also still missing a key to my desk, which is currently closed and will not turn me. But the caretaker was about to have to worry about. The whole house here is a little older and full of corners. This is also my room is not easy to square, but still has the window down a little lookout, has a great semi-circular ceiling. From the mezzanine below is from one lined with plant down stairs through a doorway and go in the distribution corridor. Since there is a staircase that leads up to the second and 3 Floor, a hallway and down to the gear in the 2nd Stock on to a second room, the kitchen, the bathroom, the Secretariat and the club rooms. I like that it's all more spacious, so you will not feel so restricted. From my Zivi I have learned that it is wireless for all (I even included in the rent, as it runs through the university network) and I'm worried me this morning. Television seems only to make themselves more difficult. In my room I get at the moment only ARD and a nice and competent person at Saturn (completely new to me, that have the competent people) said that one DVBT probably only in half a year, or is so get in Tübingen. ESG itself has a satellite dish that feeds but not the room, but only the club, where I could watch TV but also. For that I get 1-2 days newspapers and a further 2 weekly newspapers, which I find quite remarkable. Oh, something really nasty thing I've forgotten, is the gas stove. He still drives me sometime in the madness. It must have a trick to show how I get him on and off on command. I need usually happens to the 3 trials, is made to that.
When I look out the window, I see a large timber-framed house behind the church tower and behind them perched on the Schlossberg my university.
